10 Days Left on the Scariest Thing I've Ever Done
We’re down to the last 10 days of my Kickstarter campaign, and so far, I’m 31% funded. There is still a major distance to cover, and my stress levels are at an all-time high.
The truth is, this campaign has been one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. The risk and terror of publicly asking for money is proving to be so much greater than any of the three institutional food overhauls I’ve done. Going out on a limb like this, without much of a plan b is a wildly scary business.
I know that $50,000 is a large sum of money. But I also know that this book will not get written without the resources to allow me to do it. I am so deeply convinced of the need for this book in the world, and every dollar raised will be put to very good use.
I would not be here, making this huge ask if I didn’t believe so strongly in the importance of this work. Reconnecting people more securely to the basic life force that is food is the thing that I am most passionate about in this world. I’ve devoted my life and my career to rebuilding these lost connections, as I am convinced that there are better outcomes available for all of us, for our communities & economies, and for the planet as a result.
I’m currently working to piece together the money I’m going to need to get through another month’s worth of bills next week. I really see that this is exactly the kind of roadblock that prevents me from writing this book. I want nothing more than to be able to sit down in front of my computer and just start writing.
Your support will buy me a pause button for 8 months. It will allow me to exhale, turn off the worrying, and produce a compelling and inspired manuscript. Please support my campaign now and help me make one of my biggest dreams a reality.
With deep gratitude and solidarity,
